Kick Sugar to the curb!

Sugar is a substance which is hidden in many of the processed foods we consume daily. As we live fast-paced lives in the modern world, convenience has become at the forefront of our lives. This has led to an increase in the consumption of processed foods high in sugar and simple carbohydrates. Glucose, which is a type of sugar we get from consumed foods, is what our body uses for energy. The process of glucose traveling through our bloodstream and cells is called blood glucose or blood sugar. Glucose is also our body’s preferred source of energy which is why we feel energized after consuming foods high in sugar. All the changes in human eating behavior have caused us to consume more sugar than our bodies are able to handle. This is the leading cause of the rise in the pre-diabetes and Type 2 diabetes diagnosis in modern societies. The good news is Prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes can be prevented through lifestyle and habit changes.
